SECTION – A  

MEDICAL EXPENSES AND REPATRIATION

Nature of Coverage:. Coverage under the medical expense section of this insurance is intended for use by the Insured person in the event of sudden and unexpected sickness or accident arising when the insured person is outside the Republic of India

This insurance will pay up to the limit of cover shown in the schedule in total for the insured person in respect of covered medical related expenses reasonable and necessarily incurred outside the Republic of India by the Insured person suffering bodily injury, sickness, disease or death during the period of insurance.

PERIOD OF INSURANCE

SECTION A – . First 30 days (continuously or in the aggregate of 30 days) during the policy period for Medical expenses and repatriation

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  1. Notwithstanding anything contained herein to the contrary this insurance is valid in respect of trips undertaken by the insured person during the 12 months following the date of purchase as stated in the schedule subject to the duration of any one trip not exceeding 30 days and in the aggregate 30 days during the policy period.

  2. In the event that the insured person is traveling outside India on the last day of insurance the cover hereunder shall extend to include duration of trip until his return to India within 29 days of the expiry date provided total period of travel undertaken by insured person shall not exceed 30 days in the aggregate.

  1. It is understood and agreed that the cover is granted under this endorsement is always subject to the insured person advising the insurance company any material change in his health condition. All terms and conditions remain unaltered.

SECTION – B

FRAUD PROTECTION

The company will indemnify the insured Primary card member only against the Financial loss sustained by the insured arising out of fraudulent utilisation of any lost or stolen Primary credit card issued by Citibank, 96 hours pre and 48 hours post from the time of intimation regarding the loss/theft made to Citibank. The card member shall intimate Citibank immediately of the loss/theft of the card.  The cover is  worldwide.

The maximum liability of the Company for any Primary Card Member throughout the Policy Period for any or all losses during one or more events shall not exceed the Sum Insured per Insured Person stated in the Schedule.

SPECIAL EXCLUSIONS

1.Losses sustained by the insured resulting directly or indirectly from any fraudulent or dishonest, acts committed by the insured’s employee and family members, acting along or in collusion with others in respect of credit card operation.

2.Losses resulting from any credit card issued without the consent of the customer. However this exception will not apply in respect of replacement of a credit card previously issued by the insured .

3.Loss of interest, consequential loss, delay, loss of market.

4.Losses arising out of use of genuine card by any authorized person with intent to defraud the insured.

5.Losses,which the insured can legally recover from the cardholders, any person or corporation agreeing to honour credit cards issued by the insured.

6.Any claim arising out of any contractual liability.

7.All cards are to be covered without selection.

8.Loss arising out of Skimming(duplication of card during transaction)

is excluded from the scope of cover.

9.Loss arising out of Cash Transaction in ATM using the card is excluded.

CLAIMS PROCEDURE

1.Immediate intimation should be given to Citibank when the loss /misuse of the card comes to the knowledge of the insured.

2.All efforts to be taken by Citibank to block the card immediately on information.

3.The insured card member shall contact the Company or log on to the nia website for guidance.

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED:

1. Notice of loss to the Company immediately by Citibank/Card member.

2. Police Complaint/ (F.I.R.)/E-copy of police complaint in original.

3. Claim form duly completed by the card member    (Page-1    Page-2)

4. Proof of misuse of card like card statements, records and related documents.

5. Format given as per Annexure II shall be submitted by Citibank.
